Established in 1987,
OCHSA provides bright and talented students with a creative,
challenging and nurturing environment that inspires them
to express themselves and achieve their highest potential
in academia and the arts. OCHSA is a public charter school
offering a rigorous academic experience and unparalleled
arts education in 11 arts conservatories. The U.S. Department
of Education and the National Endowment for the Arts have
recognized OCHSA as a model arts education program. OCHSA
currently serves a culturally diverse student body of more
than 1,250 students from 92 cities throughout California
in grades 9-12. Based on our 2004 preliminary Academic
Performance Index (API) rating of 861, the school is ranked
5th when compared to 69 other high schools in Orange County,
placing OCHSA in the 90th percentile of all high schools
in California. Students focus on one of the following arts
conservatories:
